It is the national airline of Dubai, United Arab Emirates and operates over 2200 passenger flights per week, from its hub at Dubai International Airport Terminal 3, to 108 destinations in 60 countries across 6 continents. The company also operates four of the world’s longest non-stop commercial flights from Dubai to Los Angeles, San Francisco, São Paulo and, Houston with all except San Francisco on the Boeing 777-200LR. The flight to San Francisco is currently served by a Boeing 777-300ER. Emirates is a subsidiary of The Emirates Group, which has over 50,000 employees, and is wholly-owned by the Government of Dubai directly under the Investment Corporation of Dubai. Cargo activities are undertaken by the Emirates Group’s Emirates SkyCargo division.

During the mid-1980s, Gulf Air began to cut back its services to Dubai. As a result Emirates was conceived in March 1985 with backing from Dubai’s royal family, whose Dubai Royal Air Wing provided two of the airline’s first aircraft. It was required to operate independent of government subsidies, apart from $10 million in start-up capital. The airline became headed by Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the airline’s present chairman. In the years following its founding, the airline expanded both its fleet and its destinations. In October 2008, Emirates moved all operations at Dubai International Airport to Terminal 3, a new terminal exclusively dedicated to Emirates.

Emirates operates a mixed fleet of Airbus and Boeing wide-body aircraft and is one of only nine airlines to operate an all wide-body aircraft fleet. The centrepiece of the airline’s fleet is the Boeing 777. Emirates also has orders for 80 Airbus A380s with 10 already in service and became the second operator of the Airbus A380-800 after Singapore Airlines when their first aircraft was delivered on 28 July 2008. Emirates has won numerous awards and is an industry bellwether for aircraft purchases, purchasing over 130 aircraft in 2007 alone.

Emirates has built up a strong brand name as a trendsetter in the aviation industry, particularly in terms of service excellence, coupled with consistent profitability. In 2010, Emirates was voted the eighth best airline in the world by research consultancy firm Skytrax.

We expect introducing of modernised web presentation during January 2010.

Website www.almaktouminternationalairport.eu will start for internet users in context with oppenning Al Maktoum International Airport in June 2010.

Al Maktoum International Airport

Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) is a major new airport currently under construction in Jebel Ali, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Previous working names have included “Jebel Ali International Airport,” “Jebel Ali Airport City” and “Dubai World Central International Airport”.

It will be officially known as Al Maktoum International Airport. It has been named after the late Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the former ruler of Dubai. It will be the main part of Dubai World Central, a planned residential, commercial and logistics complex scheme.

Dubai World Central is the world’s first truly integrated logistics platform, with most transport modes, logistics and value added services, including manufacturing and assembly, in a single bonded and Free Zone environment.

At the heart of this huge new community is the Al Maktoum International Airport, planned as the world’s largest passenger and cargo hub, ten times larger than Dubai International Airport and Dubai Cargo Village combined.

If completed as planned, the airport will have an annual cargo capacity of 12 million tons, more than three times that of Memphis International Airport, today’s largest cargo hub, and a passenger capacity between 120 million and 150 million per year – more than Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (90 million in 2008), currently the world’s busiest passenger airport.

We expect introducing of modernised web presentation during April 2010.

Website www.dubai-world-central.com will start for internet users in context with oppenning Dubai World Central in June 2010.

Dubai World Central

Dubai’s location at the crossroads of three continents makes it a perfect stopover for travelers. As the emirate’s logistics and aviation industries take off, Dubai is aiming to be a distribution hub serving the Middle East and beyond. And, visionary strategic projects like Dubai World Central (DWC) are expected to play a vital role in realizing that dream.

Dubai World Central is one of the most significant commercial infrastructure developments ever undertaken in the Middle East. Nearly twice the size of Hong Kong Island, the DWC will transform the region into one of the most powerful global centers for logistics, tourism and commerce. The multi-phased development covers an astounding 140 sq. km and has six clustered zones, all catering to the booming aviation and logistics industries. It is advantageously positioned next to Jebel Ali Port and Free Zone, making sea to air connectivity attainable in less than four hours in ideal conditions – a world beating turnaround time.

The DWC is a self-contained ‘city within a city’ with a workforce of over 900,000 people. To ensure hassle-free connectivity, the development will be serviced by a dedicated light rail system and Dubai Metro, in addition to several high road networks. Equipped with the latest smart technology, Dubai World Central is poised to be the most advanced entity of its type in the world.

Company InternetCont Ltd. is going to prepare new web presentation in area Downtown Burj Khalifa (Dubai, UAE) on internet domain www.burj-khalifa.eu.

We expect introducing of modernised web presentation during January 2010.

Website www.burj-khalifa.eu will start for internet users in context with oppenning of highest skyscraper in the world Burj Khalifa in January 2009.

Burj Khalifa. Architecture and design

The tower is designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, who also designed the Sears Tower in Chicago and 1 World Trade Center in New York City, among numerous other famous high-rises. The building resembles the bundled tube form of the Sears Tower, but is not a tube structure. The design of Burj Khalifa is reminiscent of the Frank Lloyd Wright vision for The Illinois, a mile high skyscraper designed for Chicago, Illinois.

According to Marshall Strabala, an SOM architect who worked on the building’s design team, Burj Dubai was designed based on the 73-floor “Tower Palace Three”, an all-residential building in Seou, South Korea. In its early planning, Burj Khalifa was intended to be entirely residential.

Burj Khalifa

Emaar Properties has also engaged GHD,an international multidisciplinary consulting firm, to assist with the design, review and assessment involved in the construction process.

The design of Burj Khalifa is derived from patterning systems embodied in Islamic architecture, with the triple-lobed footprint of the building based on an abstracted version of the flower Hymenocallis. The tower is composed of three elements arranged around a central core. As the tower rises from the flat desert base, setbacks occur at each element in an upward spiralling pattern, decreasing the cross section of the tower as it reaches toward the sky. At the top, the central core emerges and is sculpted to form a finishing spire. A Y-shaped floor plan maximizes views of the Persian Gulf. Viewed from above or from the base, the form also evokes the onion domes of Islamic architecture. During the design process, engineers rotated the building 120 degrees from its original layout to reduce stress from prevailing winds. At its tallest point, the tower sways a total of 1.2 m (3.9 ft).

The exterior cladding of Burj Khalifa will consist of 142,000 m2 (1,528,000 sq ft) of reflective glazing, and aluminium and textured stainless steel spandrel panels with vertical tubular fins. The cladding system is designed to withstand Dubai’s extreme summer temperatures. Additionally, at its projected height the exterior temperature at the top of the building will be 6 °C (11 °F) cooler than at its base.

The interior will be decorated by Giorgio Armani. An Armani Hotel, the first of four by Armani, will occupy the lower 37 floors. Floors 45 through 108 will have 700 private apartments on 64 floors (which, according to the developer, sold out within eight hours of being on the market). An outdoor zero-entry swimming pool will be located on the 78th floor of the tower. Corporate offices and suites will fill most of the remaining floors, except for a 123rd floor lobby and 124th floor (about 440 m (1,444 ft)) indoor/outdoor observation deck. The spire, itself over 200 m (700 ft) tall, will hold communications equipment.

It will also feature the world’s fastest elevator, rising and descending at 18 m/s (59 ft/s). The world’s current fastest elevator (in Taipei 101) travels at 16.83 m/s (55.2 ft/s). Engineers had considered installing the world’s first triple-deck elevators, but the final design calls for double-deck elevators. A total of 56 elevators will be installed that can each carry 42 people at a time.

The opening ceremony of Burj Khalifa was held on 4 January 2010. The ceremony featured a display of 10,000 fireworks, light beams projected on and around the tower, and further sound, light and water effects. Using the 868 powerful stroboscope lights that are integrated into the facade and spire of the tower, different lighting sequences were choreographed, together with more than 50 different combinations of the other effects.

The event began with a short film which depicted the story of Dubai and the evolution of Burj Khalifa. The displays of sound, light, water and fireworks followed. The portion of the show consisting of the various pyrotechnic, lighting, water and sound effects was divided into three. The first part was primarily a light and sound show, which took as its theme the link between desert flowers and the new tower, and was co-ordinated with the Dubai Fountain and pyrotechnics. The second portion, called ‘Heart Beat’, represented the construction of the tower in a dynamic light show with the help of 300 projectors which generated a shadow-like image of the tower. In the third act, sky tracers and space cannons enveloped the tower in a halo of white light, which expanded as the lighting rig on the spire activated.

The ceremony was relayed live on a giant screen on Burj Park Island, as well as several television screens placed across the Downtown Burj Khalifa development. Hundreds of media outlets from around the world reported live from the scene. In addition to the media presence, 6,000 guests were expected.

more than $27 billion in investment will create 500 000 new jobs

Price: $27 billion

About Jazan Economic City

Located 725 km south of Jeddah and covering 100 million sq m Jazan Economic City is expected to attract more than SR100bn in investment and create some 500,000 new jobs. The city includes a seaport, an industrial zone, a commercial business district, residential areas, public amenities such as hospitals and schools, as well as other academic and vocational training institutions.

Jazan Economic City is also ideally placed at the mouth of the Red Sea to service markets in Europe, Asia and East Africa as well as to receive raw materials from the surrounding countries that are currently not well served with processing and manufacturing facilities.

Though the 40-square-mile area today is little more than desert scrubland, over the next couple of decades it is to become a $30 billion industrial zone that’s home to hundreds of thousands of people. One barren parcel is slated to house a $4.5 billion aluminum smelter run by China’s Chalco (ACH), another a refinery, and a third a steel complex.

Hamachi is software for creation of your own virtual network

About Hamachi Games

Hamachi is software for creation of your own virtual network within the internet (VPN) and when someone connects with you in such virtual net, your two computers behave, as if you were sitting in one room connected by a network cable, which brings significant advantages when e.g. connecting several PCs. After the installation you get a kind of a virtual driver, which creates new connection to the local network.
