Motovun is a town of history and culture surrounded by breathtaking nature. It is the perfect place for a relaxing yet fascinating holiday.
On the top of a Motovun hill is probably the most beautiful medieval town in Istria, with houses scattered all over the hill. On the slopes of the hill, grapes of famous Istrian wines are grown. The river Mirna flows below the hill and on the other side of the river there is the famous Motovun forest, rich with truffles.
Since 1999 Motovun has hosted the international Motovun Film Festival. With its elegant system of towers, walls, gates and piazzas, the hilltop village of Motovun in Istria is a striking example of Venetian colonial architecture. Motovun is the most attractive town in the Istrian interior.
