The mayor of Baghdad has announced that eight firms have been shortlisted for the construction of the Baghdad Metro.
Mayor Saber Al-Issawi told Reuters that more than 20 firms had expressed an interest in the project, with an estimated cost of US $3-4 billion.
The companies included France’s Systra, Britain’s Pell Frischmann and Cyril Sweett Group Plc, US firms Parsons Brinckerhoff and Aecom, Germany’s RMS, Turkey’s Makyol and Mebex, a Lebanese firm.
